Dex’s original playthrough screenshot · Simplified Chinese interface.
The mentor provides the dossier after a crime is recorded during the normal introduction; skipping puts it in your document storage. Double-click to open. Every reopening reads the current case immediately, without paying an informant or buying a new copy; leave and reopen after new actions. Dex’s screenshot shows 33 credits of fencing and no active investigation. That is not a 33-credit bill due now, nor a 33-day sentence. Selling away the item does not erase the earlier trade record.

When the officer arrives
At each morning, evidence below 80 allows each crime category to decay by 20, minimum 0. Daily evidence is then calculated from the remaining total using the table. Trusted halves that growth with integer division; Priority Target multiplies by 1.5, otherwise Watchlist by 1.2; the Upper Levels petition adds another ×1.5. Evidence caps at 100. At 100 an enforcement visit can be queued. On arrival, the officer rereads the case: evidence below 95 or no crime makes him leave, with Security−20. Otherwise a total below 300 requires paying the current total, with Security−10 and the case cleared. Insufficient cash ends in arrest. Totals 300–1499 cause an arrest ending;1500+ execution. Imprisonment ends the run, not a few days of waiting. These case amounts are separate from immediate contraband-inspection fines.
Fixers versus evidence removal
Fixer 1/2/3 costs 25/45/70 per paid night. For each crime category A it subtracts floor(A×15/20/25%) and then 50/150/400, clamped at 0. It does not directly remove existing investigation progress. Evidence Removal costs base 500, increases the next base quote by 100 and starts a 14-day cooldown at purchase. It resets evidence and operation state, but keeps the crime amounts; those can start another investigation. A previously queued officer can still arrive and leave for insufficient evidence, costing 20 Security.
