Rent keeps your lease going; the Business Permit makes the business legal. Budget for both before tying up your cash in new stock. Paying either bill does not make you the owner of the shop.

Plan the next rent payment

The Landlord in his dark suit
The Landlord collects rent and tells you the following week's amount.

Read the rent reminder’s amount and due date. When the Landlord visits, choose the rent-payment option. After payment, check his new quote for the following week and reserve that amount before purchasing stock.

Keep rent money as cash. Unsold machines, raw materials and goods in storage cannot pay a bill until you sell them. Use the money-making overview to choose a business that fits the cash and equipment you already have.

If the reminder includes missed rent, add that debt to the current payment. Wild’s Rent Grace network upgrade allows one missed payment to be carried into the following week. It is a one-time favor: the debt remains, and another missed payment can end in eviction. Arrange the favor before relying on it.

Buy the Business Permit for 1,500 Credits

Business Permit: legal operation in the Lower Levels

The visitor named Trade Board Official represents the Station Trade Board. He sells the Business Permit for 1,500 Credits. This is a separate payment from rent.

  1. Keep at least 1,500 Credits in cash, plus the rent you still owe.
  2. When the official visits, finish his opening dialogue and choose Buy the Permit (1,500 Credits). You can buy it during the first notice or a later visit.
  3. Complete the dialogue. The game deducts 1,500 Credits, grants the permit and places its document on the counter.
  4. Continue trading. Once the permit is granted, the recurring unlicensed-business visits stop.

If the purchase choice is missing, check your cash first: it is only offered when you can afford the fee. The permit’s item-reference value is not its purchase price. Do not treat a zero reference value as a free license.

Handle postponement, donations and refusal

On his first visit, the official warns that permits will be required from the following week. You can choose not to buy yet and use that time to raise the fee. On later visits, he asks you to buy the permit or provide a donation of goods.

Choice What happens
Buy the permit Pay 1,500 Credits once and obtain the operating permit.
Donate goods Hand over goods until his remaining demand reaches zero; he agrees to overlook this week. You still have no permit.
Refuse on a later visit He reports the unlicensed business to Security, creating an offence that can lead to investigation and a fine.

Read the donation amount in the current dialogue. Each donated item’s negotiated value reduces the remaining demand, and later visits can add to an unfinished amount. A donation buys time; repeated donations do not turn into a purchased permit. Keep it separate from your long-term plan to pay the 1,500-Credit fee.

If the official reports you, inspect the case and follow the crime and hiding guide. The Security guide explains other kinds of official visits so you can identify the demand in front of you.

Buying the shop in the current Demo

You cannot buy the shop through normal new-game progression in Demo 050-Rev5-L. The Landlord’s rent conversation offers payment or refusal. A Business Permit grants legal operating status, without transferring ownership.

The calendar can display the property’s value, but that valuation is not an active purchase offer. Saving the displayed amount does not reveal a buyout button. The current Demo also leaves the Loan Shark’s initial mortgage visit outside normal progression, so waiting for that loan is not a working purchase route.

Keep reserving rent while you continue your business. Endless Mode changes some scripted events and customers but does not open the shop-purchase route.
