Who sells the business starter kits?

Joe Wild offers them through his network services. They let your existing shop add water trading, winemaking or rat ranching.

How much does each business cost to unlock?

Network service Base cost Immediate reward Supplier
Water Trading 300 credits Water Trading Starter Kit A water trader starts visiting
Retired Winemaker 200 credits Winemaking Starter Kit First visit the next day, then weekly
Ranching 500 credits Rat Ranching Starter Kit A Rat Rancher visits weekly

Set aside rent and money for your first batch of supplies before buying. The table gives base costs; price modifiers change Wild’s final quote. Collect the kit immediately after paying, then expect suppliers on the schedule above.

Which referral should you buy first?

  • Water Trading: choose this if you want to learn testing and purification. The water guide explains which treatment to use and when a filter stops helping.
  • Retired Winemaker: choose this if you can buy ingredients and wait for fermentation. Follow the wine recipes; small berries, Basewater and standard yeast can reach Master Vintage.
  • Ranching: choose this if you want to manage a breeding colony. Read the rat guide before adding animals: food, space and hygiene need daily attention.

If cash is tight, sell your current stock to build money for equipment and supplies. Compare the daily routines in the money-making guide.

Do you need to restart or change profession?

You can add a business in your current save. An Apprentice can add wine or rats, and a Water Merchant can try another route. Check your equipment, choose a business and buy its kit.

For a new run, the starting-scenario guide compares the available openings. For an established shop, use Wild to expand when you have both space and working cash.

Which contacts support the other routes?

Separate equipment kits from suppliers. Mining and pharmacy referrals introduce stock contacts. Retired-career referrals provide equipment and bring later visitors.

Referral Base cost What it provides
GP Mining Cooperative 250 Business card and ore orders
Ruined Machine Scrapping 300 Scrapping entrance and ruined-machine supply
Retired Farmer 350 Starter hydroponics equipment, then seeds and equipment
Retired Chemist 1,000 Starter lab equipment, then chemicals and equipment
Retired Gunsmith 650 Starter modding equipment, then mods and ammunition
Upper Level Pharmacist 300 Business card and medicine orders
Lower Levels Chemist 250 Business card and chemical-product supply

Of these referrals, the current Demo opens GP Mining Cooperative and locks the others. The mining fee does not include a furnace. Pay the displayed quote; the reputation rule described above also applies to these base costs.

Read the smelting, hydroponics, chemistry and gunsmithing instructions. The career Wiki maps all the career definitions.

Where are the career entries?

Water Merchant and Rat Wrangler compare career-start supplies with these referral kits. Junker, Hydroponic Farmer, Chemist, Gunsmith and Pharmacist explain their equipment or suppliers.

The Retired Winemaker kit gives three ordinary Yeast, three Wine Bottles, two BloomBerry portions, one water ration, one Magnifying Glass and a fermenting guide. It supplies ordinary berry winemaking; Moonshiner and moonshine brewing cover the illicit-alcohol topic.

Fish farming: start with the October 19 Demo update’s fish farming guide for the new network upgrade, tank setup and daily care.
