Who are they?

The Black Market is a faction associated with thieves and illicit trading. A customer’s faction, the legality of an item and whether that item is stolen are separate facts: inspect the goods instead of judging every transaction by the visitor’s clothes.

Reputation and relationships

Black Market reputation benefits include advance event information, more petty thieves, better stock and a weekly thief visit. Losing its trust can block contraband trading and the Underground Exchange, and increase the cost of janitorial services.

Reputation belongs to the customer’s faction. Offering a discount when selling, or paying more when buying, can build that relationship through the completed trade. Check the reputation preview before accepting a bargain.

Visitors and shopkeeping

A configured Black Lamp can attract thieves through the showcase. These visitors occupy ordinary-customer slots; they do not create unlimited extra visitors. Check stolen and contraband markers before purchasing, then plan storage and resale.
