Build separate stock areas
Keep purchased inputs, finished goods and goods reserved for customers in separate containers or storage tabs. Leave room at the destination before running a transfer. A large machine must fit its actual grid shape; equal total cell counts do not guarantee a fit. Rotate items with Q/E when arranging them.
Expand a storage bay
Use an owned storage-bay expansion kit on an owned, eligible bay. Each kit is consumed and adds same-size pages, keeping the bay’s original item restrictions.
| Bay | Pages added per kit | Maximum total pages |
|---|---|---|
| Standard / gun / chemical storage bay | 2 | 5 |
| Large storage bay | 1 | 5 |
A fresh standard bay therefore goes from 1 → 3 → 5 pages with two kits. A fresh large bay needs four kits to reach five. The kit expands pages, not each page’s width or height. Rename tabs to identify their purpose; names allow up to 12 characters. Jackson can offer these kits, but his current stock varies. A module-bay expansion kit is a different item used for machine modules.
Open related containers together
Storage coordinator
Jackson can stock a storage coordinator after day 14, with a 40% appearance roll while you do not own one. Double-click it, create and name a preset, then choose the add-container action. Click owned containers to register them; Esc or right-click ends selection. The preset also remembers the selected content tabs. Assign an accepted hotkey in the coordinator window; reserved keys are refused.
Keep the coordinator accessible in an open window. The hotkey opens closed containers in the group. When all are open, it closes them. If a container is sold or removed, edit the preset and register its replacement: presets refer to the actual item, not every container of that name. The coordinator opens windows; it does not add space or move stock.
Connect a production line
For automatic movement use intake and outlet hoppers. For example, keep scrap in an input bay, link an intake inside it to an outlet at the destination, and set a scrap filter and retained quantity. First run one transfer manually, check the received amount and free cells, then enable the desired night phase. Use the coordinator preset to inspect both containers together.
