Nutrifruit: prepare nightly feed

The picture shows standard Nutrifruit; the start supplies Small portions. Rats eat a whole food item, so smaller portions help limit waste. A Feed Dispenser can process food into stored feed.

Compare growth, immunity, hunger rate, litter size and lifespan. Each trait has two inherited values; a pup receives one from each parent.

Scrap Metal repairs; Metal Ingots expand

Use Scrap Metal on the cage to restore 50% of maximum durability. Each Metal Ingot adds one row of space. Rats escape below 20 durability, so repair before closing.

How do you start the first cage?

1. Check the six rats for sex and age. Keep healthy, unneutered males and females aged at least 3 days for breeding.
2. Place breeding rats and food in the same cage, leaving space for pups.
3. Refill food, remove droppings and check durability each evening. Follow pregnancy progress on the panel; the base pregnancy lasts 3 game days, with a usual base litter of 2–4.
4. Keep healthy breeding stock and raise spare rats to a useful slaughter weight.

Use a blade on a live rat once to kill it, then again on the corpse to produce meat. A healthy 400g rat yields one standard Raw Meat worth 120 at base value. Calculate earnings from actual sale prices minus feed and equipment costs. See the rat guide for weight splits and slaughter timing.
