What does this career do?

Gunsmith trades weapons and ammunition and modifies firearms. The career description also includes licensed custom orders. Check permit classes before judging a gun’s condition and fitted mods.

What are its starting resources?

  • Class 1 Weapon Permit
  • Start with a stock of Firearms and Gun Mods
  • Start with a stock of Ammunition
Nestfire Compact

Nestfire Compact

Inspect this ordinary pistol before deciding whether to refurbish it or recover its materials. Its model also determines which mods fit.

ScrewdriverGun Parts

Screwdriver and Gun Parts

Dismantle unwanted ordinary guns with the Screwdriver. Spend recovered Gun Parts on the guns you keep; every refurbishment attempt consumes parts.

Liberator 3D Printed Pistol

Liberator 3D Printed Pistol

This cheap plastic gun dismantles into 3D Printing Filament. Buy ordinary guns when you need Gun Parts.

Which Joe Wild contacts help?

Retired Gunsmith has a base cost of 650 credits. Its description lists starter modification equipment, a first visit the next day and weekly mod and ammunition supplies. Find the menu in Joe Wild’s referral guide.

What should I do with the first used gun?

  1. Check its model, condition, contraband grade and asking price. Right-click or double-click the gun to open its interaction and modding interface and inspect the slots and fitted parts.
  2. Choose which gun to sell and which to dismantle. Use a Screwdriver on an unwanted ordinary firearm. The gun disappears and its materials enter your inventory.
  3. Use Gun Parts on the gun you kept to attempt refurbishment. Success raises condition by one grade; failure keeps the current condition. Both outcomes consume the parts used for that attempt.
  4. Read the new condition and valuation before trying again. Refurbishment progresses through Poor, Fair, Good and Excellent, then stops.
  5. Fit mods compatible with the model and slot, then compare Firepower, Reliability, Accuracy and other stats. Include the gun, parts and mods when calculating your cost.

Repeated attempts with Gun Parts improve the refurbishment chance. Set a material budget for one gun before spending the cash needed for other stock.

Which guns provide repair parts?

Dismantling a Nestfire Compact yields two Gun Parts, one 3D Printing Filament and two Scrap Metal. A Liberator 3D Printed Pistol yields only two 3D Printing Filament. Identify the gun before buying it for salvage.

Which weapon permit do I need?

Weapon Permit Weapon contraband grade covered Revoked below this Authority reputation
Class 1 Low 0
Class 2 Medium 30
Class 3 High 60

Putting an owned permit in a Display Case increases the chance of gun buyers visiting. Check the class you can trade before buying another weapon.

Where are the operating guides?

The gunsmithing guide covers dismantling, repair, mods and permits. Every repair attempt consumes a Gun Part, including failures, and refurbishment caps at Excellent. Include this cost when buying stock. Use the beginner guide for ordinary inspection and negotiation.
